Hi-Fi News was launched in June 1956, and the statement of policy in first issue was that: “In Hi-Fi News, we shall endeavour earnestly to represent the high standards that are essential for high fidelity sound reproduction. We offer Hi-Fi News to the manufacturer as a medium through which his goods can be displayed and discussed, and we present it to our readers as a paper they can trust and rely upon.”  The magazine offers in-depth reviews of all audio equipment, entry-level to super-fi high-end, with authoritative technical features, new product and technology news, product lab testing and group tests, readers’ system features, on-location manufacturer features, opinion columns from industry experts, show reports and music reviews (jazz, classical, rock/pop and audiophile).

“HiFi-News is delighted to participate in Europe’s most prestigioius Awards programme.”

It becomes easy to understand why some manufacturers might take the route of ordering an OEM model from this Austrian powerhouse and […]

Yet the top-of-the-line InPoL Legacy from Italian manufacturer Pathos goes one (well, two) better. This integrated amplifier, priced £51,995, arrives in a purpose-built wooden crate on wheels, along with two metal ‘pull-up’ bars that slide underneath the […]
